This is the route we will be taking over the next 10 days if you wish to follow us. We have been planning this since the WW1 centenary in 2018 and then Covid got in the way. Made more urgent when we discover that we have direct blood relatives in Commonwealth War graves scattered across France and Belgium. We hope to pay each one a visit and leave a poppy.

As for culture, we have planned a trip to the trenches and a couple of museums and may squeeze in a cathedral along the way. If goes without saying that we intend to sample French wine and stuff ourselves with good French food along the way.

"Madge" will be our mode of transport most of the time but a train trip to Bruges once we are in Belgium is planned
